100 calorie Sierra Mist

100 calorie Sierra Mist

Pretty much any of those cute, short little 8-ounce cans of soda are 100 calories (for the non-diet variety.) But they’re usually as costly as their 12-ounce big brothers. They are convenient, though, and if you find a good sale they’re a great way to measure your soda calorie count. I recently picked up a six-pack of 100 calorie Sierra Mist when my son had a tummy ache (the only time he’s allowed soda.)

If you (like me) can’t live without your morning mocha, General Foods has the answer with its 100 Calorie Pack Cafe Mocha Cappucino. Just add hot water (or, for a richer taste and more calories, add milk) and enjoy a 6-ounce glass of chocolatey coffee goodness. It’s caffeinated, too. Now, obviously, you could buy a regular tin of General Foods International Coffee and measure out portions as you go. But if you want convenience that will help you count calories at the same time, these packs are a definite option. There are five envelopes per box, and the box I bought was $2.99 — less than I’d pay for a coffee shop mocha. Take a pack to work and you’ll save money and a trip to the coffee shop.

100 calorie Coke
These short little 8-ounce cans of soft drinks have been around since I was in grade school in the 1980s. I remember because I was so jealous of this girl, Terri, who got one in her lunch every day, wrapped up in foil. Now that I’m all growns up, I could buy them if I want to, but I can’t stomach (figuratively) the fact that the short cans cost as much, if not more, than their 12-ounce big brothers. Plus, I’m more of a Diet Pepsi gal. At any rate, if you’re looking to quench your thirst for the original Coke with fewer calories, these babies may be just the ticket. They taste just like Coke, just less of it, for more money. But damn, they’re cute.
